Mayan EDMS 0.13 released
Posted by Roberto at Dec
New release of Mayan EDMS in time for Xmas. Improving the end user experience was the main focus of this release, easing the learning curve and removing one of the most common adoption barriers. To this accomplish this an app called Bootstrap setups was added that lowers the time and knowledge required to start using Mayan EDMS [...]
What’s been happening?

If you are wondering why your emails or posts on the mailing list are taking a bit longer than usual to get answered here is what has been going on backstage. Ironically the latest developments of Mayan EDMS have little to do with software development. A lot of work is going into getting Mayan EDMS [...]
Addressing license and source code concerns
Posted by Roberto at Aug
Every project grows, and in just 19 months Mayan EDMS has grown beyond my wildest dreams, the events of the following days were just the growing pains as the old structure could no longer support its new developments. I have listened to every opinion and argument made during this process and have asked the community [...]

New website and new design up and running
Posted by Roberto at Aug
The new website design is up an running using WordPress with the free version of the Figero theme (http://www.inkthemes.com/wp-themes/figero-wordpress-theme/). I’ve barely used WordPress before and design is not my area of expertise so tips, tweaks, or suggestions on the look from designers are most welcomed and needed

Mayan EDMS was never very well received into this market, from it’s Wikipedia article being erased to its entries being removed from open source DMS software directories and press releases being sometimes ignored, I’m used [...]
GPL violations, update

To all the people telling me to f****** learn to read and to RTFM the GPL: I have read the GPL, this is not my first project being released as Free software, as Open Source software or under the GPL (Descartes BI, Django-replication, pdf-form-fill). It is also not the first project to enjoy widespread use [...]
GPL violations

I choose to release Mayan EDMS under the GPL which means you get the source code of the software plus the freedom to use it, modify it and pass it on forward to other people. I share the fruits of my labor and all that you are asked to do is share what you build [...]
Mayan development work in progress
Posted by Roberto at Aug
This has been a very exciting development cycle, many new additions are making their way into the code as well as third party project support. A huge thanks go to RTM-IT corp. for their donation of Citadel, their commercial clustering product for Mayan EDMS. Citadel is now part of the Free Open Source version of Mayan EDMS and available for everyone to use and [...]
